The 78th Independence Day celebration at J.H.Tarapore School this year was both vibrant and inspiring, showcasing the students’ pride in their nation’s progress since gaining independence. The event, presided over by Mrs. Tina Bodhawala Sood, the Director of Tarapore School, Agrico, who motivated the students to be good citizens, was filled with performances that reflected India’s remarkable journey through the decades after 1947.
The key highlight of the celebration was a short skit performed by the students of Std VII, titled “India’s Journey Through the Decades.” The skit depicted India’s transformation across various fields, including technology, education, economy, and social reforms. Through their compelling performances, the students illustrated how far the nation has come since 1947, portraying the triumphs of each decade.
The celebration began with a patriotic song that paid tribute to India’s growth and achievements, followed by a graceful dance that reflected the nation’s pride and evolving spirit. A heartfelt poem honoured the pioneers who shaped modern India. The March-past accompanied by the school band “Red Velvet”, added to the event’s grandeur.
The event concluded with a powerful pledge against tobacco use, underscoring the importance of healthy living and the collective responsibility to raise awareness. The program left everyone with a deep sense of pride in India’s progress and a renewed commitment to a healthier future.




J. H Tarapore school believes in providing experiential learning in accordance with the New Education Policy. Keeping this in mind the students of Std.XII had gone for a field trip to explore various career opportunities on the 26th of July, 2024.
The school had organised field trips to enable the students to get acquainted with various jobs in the hospitality, food and beverage industry and print media.
The school organised trips to The Sonnet, Ramada ,D.B.M.S Bakery ,Sudha Dairy and Udit Vani Printing Press . It was indeed a wonderful learning experience provided to the students by the Management of the school.





In a continued effort to promote holistic development, J.H.Tarapore School organized a unique “Bagless Day” on Saturday, July 20th, dedicated to Art Integrated Learning (AIL). This forward-thinking teaching model emphasizes learning through and with the arts, moving beyond traditional rote memorization to focus on creative and experiential engagement with academic subjects.
Art Integrated Learning (AIL) allows students to explore subjects through hands-on and practical activities, fostering a dynamic and interactive learning environment. By integrating art into the curriculum, we aim to enhance students’ creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills.
Students from classes 6 to 12 participated enthusiastically in a variety of activities designed to spark their creativity and innovation. These included making dolls from socks, creating handmade paper, engaging in clay painting, crafting paper bags, decorating clay pots with Warli art, and producing crafts from recycled materials. Each activity was carefully designed to encourage artistic expression and practical problem-solving.
This initiative highlights our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that nurtures every aspect of a student’s development. By offering opportunities for creative exploration and practical learning, we aim to equip our students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in all areas of life.

The newly elected Cabinet of J. H. Tarapore School for the session 2024-25 was sworn in on Thursday, the 4th of July, in a formal Investiture Ceremony. The esteemed guests for the event were Ms. Rubina Bodhanwala, Director J.H. Tarapore School and Ms. Tina Bodhanwala Sood, Director, Tarapore School, Agrico, Principal Ms. Lata Sharat, and Vice-Principal Ms. Rukshana Gardin who also invested the newly elected Cabinet.
A total of 50 members were inducted into the cabinet and given their portfolios. The ceremony began with the swearing-in of the School Pupil Leader, Tasmia Fatma (Std. XII), and Assistant School Pupil Leader, Vaanya Pandey (Std. XI), followed by the four house leaders (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Topaz), the Sports Minister, Cultural Minister, Discipline Minister, Cleanliness Minister, Ethics Minister, and the Club Leaders along with their assistants.
The ceremony commenced with a grand march of the Cabinet Members along with the school band. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. Principal Ms. Lata Sharat addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of leadership, sense of responsibility, and the role of the cabinet in fostering a positive school environment.
This Investiture Ceremony is more than an event; it is a process that instills leadership qualities and a sense of collective responsibility in the students. The oath taken by the School Pupil Leader and Assistant School Pupil Leader highlights the values of truth, justice, peace, and harmony in the school. Our office bearers recognize that with great power comes great responsibility. The newly elected members will undoubtedly reflect the school’s ethos and set a positive example for their juniors. The school looks forward to a fruitful year ahead, with the cabinet playing a pivotal role in various initiatives and activities

J. H. Tarapore School celebrated Achievers’ Day for the Batch 2023-2024 on Saturday, 22nd June, 2024. The ICSE and ISC Stream Toppers and the Subject Toppers were felicitated.
At the ICSE level, Tanisha Babber won the award for the highest scorer in the Commerce stream, Reet Agarwal for Eco-Science and Aastha Raturi for Pure Science stream.
At the ISC level, Khushi Kumari was the Arts stream topper, Akshita Singh – Commerce,
Ananya Jha – Bio-Science and Ankita Gupta – Pure-Science topper.
The awards were presented by Mrs. Tina Bodhanwala Sood, Director of Tarapore Schools, Mrs. Nargis Madon, Ex Director of J.H.Tarapore School, Principal Mrs. Lata Sharat, and Vice Principal Mrs.Rukshana H. Gardin.
Cash prizes and mementos were awarded to the winners to laud their efforts.
Proud parents and teachers who were a part of the winners’ journey to their success were present to cheer the young achievers.



J.H. Tarapore School celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm on 21st June, 2024. This day is globally recognized for fostering physical and mental well-being through yoga.
At J.H. Tarapore School, students of all the classes participated in sessions designed to promote inner peace and confidence. The school followed the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), a specified sequence of yoga asanas lasting 45 minutes, especially tailored for this day. The sessions included a series of asanas such as YogMudra, Ardh Kurmasana, Vakrasana, Tadasana, and Ardh Chandrasana, followed by “Guided Meditation: Breath of Joy” and “Om Chanting.”
This year’s celebration was themed “Yoga for Self & Society,” highlighting the school’s commitment to nurturing self health and thus contributing to the improvement of the health of the society on the whole.




May Day celebrations were organized today (on May 1, 2024) in the premises of J.H. Tarapore School. The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Various colorful performances were presented by the students of the school, including a comedy play “The Plea of the Baskets,” depicting the life of baskets.
The students also performed a vibrant dance.
In celebration of May Day, gifts were presented to all the didis and bhaiyas. The didis also presented a dance, and Nuri didi’s song added charm to the atmosphere.
The management of the program was supported by the ninth-grade students.
On this occasion, Vice Principal Mrs. Rukshana Gardin appreciated the efforts of all the didis and bhaiyas and extended her best wishes for May Day to them.


“THE GIFT OF BLOOD IS THE GIFT OF LIFE”
Blood is always needed to save lives and treat people. Blood donations are vital for patients undergoing surgeries, cancer treatment, organ transplant and those suffering from traumatic injuries. One donation can save up to three lives making each contribution incredibly impactful. J. H. Tarapore School organised the Blood Donation camp in the School premises on 26th April, 2024. The camp was conducted by the Jamshedpur Blood Bank for the benefit of Cancer patients. There was a decent participation from the parent community of the school.
The parents and relatives of the students participated in this camp with full enthusiasm.

J.H. Tarapore School celebrated and recognized its outstanding students on 20th April,2024, at the Annual Recognition Night. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, setting the stage for a celebration of distinction and recognition.
The exceptional students were felicitated by the eminent stakeholders of the school, Mr. Satish Bhatia, Mr. Arun Arora & Mr. Kishan Murari Agarwal for their remarkable achievements across various categories, ranging from Academic Excellence to Good Conduct, Most Responsible, and Perseverance. These awards celebrated both academic excellence and the character and resilience of our students.
In addition to traditional categories,the Principal of the school, Mrs. Lata Sharat and the Vice Principal Mrs. Rukshana Gardin, bestowed special awards upon deserving students in various club activities and olympiads.
Hiba Firdosh won the ‘Middle School All- Rounder Award’. The ‘Vice Principal’s Award for All Rounder : High School’ was won by Reet Agarwal.
The ‘Award for Plus Two All Rounder’, initiated by Mrs. Nargis Madon, the Founder Principal & Former Director of the school, was given to K.Harshita.
Mr. Souvik Saha, Founder of ‘People for Change’, an NGO that works for children and youth, for personal and social development felicitated Dinky Mahato with the ‘People for Change Award’.
Arushi Jha won The Principal’s Award –‘A Person for Others’.
Furthermore, the presentation of token amount towards charity to ‘People for Change Organisation’ and few other deserving stakeholders of the school, distinguished for their indispensable aid and assistance – emphasized the ethos of gratitude within our community.
A poignant moment of the evening was the introduction of the Humanities Award, instituted in memory of our beloved teacher Late Tr. Rinku Sehra.
Aaima Tazmeen received the ‘Teacher Rinku Sehra Award for Humanities’.
The school takes immense pride in fostering ardent achievers who embody not only academic excellence but also moral and spiritual values, shaping them into responsible citizens.
