The Navroze program held at J. H. Tarapore School was a vibrant celebration of culture and diversity. The event featured a splendid mix of performances, including a captivating song and dance sequence that brought the essence of Navroze to life. The students’ enthusiastic participation added a joyful touch to the occasion. Additionally, a well-crafted PowerPoint presentation highlighted the significance of Navroze, providing insights into its historical and cultural importance. Overall, the program was a delightful showcase of talent, unity, and the spirit of Navroze.
The 77th Independence Day celebration at our school was a vibrant and patriotic event, organized by the enthusiastic students of Std VII. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of national pride as the young participants showcased their talents through a mesmerizing patriotic song, a heartfelt poem, and an energetic dance performance. The event not only celebrated our country’s freedom but also highlighted the unity and creativity of our students as they came together to pay homage to our nation’s rich history.
The Art, Debate and Dramatics and Adventure clubs of J.H.Tarapore school jointly organised an inter school fest ‘ZEST’ in the school premises on 12th August 2023.
‘ZEST – 2023’ sailed on an enthralling journey of creativity, courage and conquest. This season of ZEST brought an opportunity for students of the town to showcase their creative versatility, undaunting spirit and knowledge.
The chief guest for the occasion was Ms. Jaya Singh Panda, Chief Learning and Development and Chief Diversity Officer.
“Outwit/Outplay/Outlast” ZEST – 2023, unfurled a number of innovative and competitive off- stage and on-stage events wherein contestants showed active participation.
The on-stage events included ‘Conquer the Podium’ – Debate, ‘Ramp – de- Marche’- Fashion Show, ‘Questionnaire’- Quiz, ‘Kathputli’ – Story Telling through puppets, ‘NukkadNatak’. Participants of more than 24 schools got a platform to showcase their talents and explore and learn various skills.
The off-stage events included Brushes over Blushes, Coco Artistry, Rukawat ke liye Khed Hai, Pallette Opulence, Manga Madness, Canopy Encampment. The students participated in these events with great enthusiasm.
The inter-school fest ‘ZEST-2023’ concluded with the prize distribution ceremony and the overall champion was VIDYA BHARTI CHINMAYA VIDYALAYA SCHOOL.
The much-awaited Convergence-2023, an exhilarating interschool event, by the Primary Department of J.H.Tarapore School was concluded with remarkable success, leaving participants and attendees with unforgettable memories.
It was organised on the eve of Friendship Day on Saturday, 5th August, 2023.
Convergence brought together students from various schools in the region for a celebration of camaraderie, wellness, and creativity.
The event’s diverse sessions catered to the holistic development of the students, focusing on three core themes: Making Friends, Healthy Food, Art and Craft and Advertisements.
Making Friends:-
Promoting inclusivity and fostering new connections, the Making Friends sessions with the theme Mighty Millets aimed to break barriers and create a welcoming environment for all attendees. Interactive ice-breaking activities, team-building exercises, and engaging games allowed students to interact in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, cultivating bonds that will last a lifetime.
Healthy Do It yourself session was conducted by Chef Supratim from Hotel Sonnet.
In an effort to promote healthy eating habits and encourage a balanced lifestyle, this session offered delicious recipes and presentations on nutrition and sustainable food practices.
Creative Connections
Nurturing creativity and artistic expression, the Art and Craft sessions provided a platform for students to showcase their talents and learn new skills. This workshops allowed participants to explore their artistic potential and appreciate the beauty of self-expression.
The students were thrilled to present their advertisements during the session ‘Vigyapan ki Duniya’. There was enthusiasm and passion displayed by the students during the session.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to all participating schools, volunteers, teachers, and attendees for their unwavering support in making Convergence-2023 a memorable and transformational experience.
The exhilarating journey of the prestigious IVth CISCE Zonal Carrom Tournament 2023 reached its culmination as the final event concluded on 28th July, 2023, at J.H. Tarapore School.
The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, and the Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Hasan Imam Mallick, the Assistant Manager of Health and Wellness at Tata Steel. His presence added grandeur to the event.
The finals of the U – 19 singles category witnessed an exceptional display of skill. Rohan Kumar Singh (Church School Beldih) and Reet Agarwal (J.H.Tarapore School) emerged victorious after an intense neck-to-neck battle against Mohd. Ibtesham (KPS Mango) and Prachi Modanwal (J.H.Tarapore School) respectively.
In the doubles category, Awais Raza & Shadab Ansari (KPS Mango) and Sneha Mahato & Suhani Kamal (KPS Gamharia) formed an unstoppable team, taking home the U – 19 tournament title with their seamless coordination and exceptional teamwork.
During the three-day trials, young carrom enthusiasts from different schools showcased exceptional skills and unwavering determination. The IVth Zonal Carrom Tournament 2023 celebrated their talent emphasizing on sportsmanship and fair play. The Participants earned themselves a coveted opportunity to proudly represent their schools on the regional platform.

Once a talented National Level Volleyball player, he now stands as a respected leader in the realm of sports administration.

The vibrant game of carrom has taken center stage at J.H. Tarapore School as students put their skills to the test during the highly anticipated three-day event – the IVth CISCE Zonal Carrom Tournament 2023.
On 26th July 2023, the sports department of J. H. Tarapore School organized a tournament for the U-14 Category that saw enthusiastic participation from students of 26 different schools, all coming together to showcase their exceptional talent in the traditional board game of carrom.
The ceremony commenced with a heartfelt invocation of blessings as a ceremonial lamp was lit, signifying the auspicious beginning of the event. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of the Olympian, Mr. Anand Louis Menezes, Senior Manager at Tata Steel Sports Department, who adorned the role of Chief Guest for the day.
The event was graced by esteemed Guests of Honour, Mr. L. Nageshwar Rao, representing the Tata Steel Karate Center, and Mrs. Priti Sinha, the Principal of Gulmohar High School and Zonal Coordinator of the Jamshedpur Zone. Adding to the significance of the occasion, Mr. D. P. Balmiki served as the chief referee throughout the tournament.
The selection process encompassed various rounds, each meticulously designed to assess and evaluate the participants’ diverse skill sets and abilities.
The highlight of the event was the eagerly awaited results of the first day of the CISCE Zonal Carrom Tournament 2023, which included the singles and doubles competitions in the U-14 category, with outcomes declared for both Boys and Girls.

J.H.Tarapore School took a bold step towards fostering creativity, curiosity and hands on learning by organising an exhilarated “Bagless Day” for its students.
On Saturday 22nd July, 2023, the school premises was abuzz with excitement as children participated in ‘One Day Fun Day’ a myriad of engaging activities for Stds. I to V, concentrating around various vocations like pottery, gardening, sewing for Stds. VI to XII
With a mission to broaden young minds and inspire them to explore diverse career paths, the Bagless Day initiative sought to break away from traditional routines and offer an immersive experience unlike any other
Throughout the event, each level embarked on a unique journey. “We believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls”, said the Principal, Mrs. Lata Sharat. “The Bagless Day was an excellent opportunity for our students to step out of their comfort zones and discover their interests.
The highlight of the day was a visit by RJ Manoj from Radio City who engaged with the students in a few games and an interactive session inspiring them to embrace their passions and explore the world of media and communication.
As the day drew to a close, the joy and fulfilment on the faces of the students were palpable. The Green Warriors Club of the Primary Department had organised various activities to celebrate the World Environment Day on 30th June , 2023.
The students had participated in various activities like Leaf Printing, Bookmarks making bracelets making with dry flowers and leaves. A slogans writing competition on SAVE TREES 🌳 was also conducted. The children enjoyed a lot and understood the important role that nature plays in our lives.
The Environment Club of J.H.Tarapore School organized a fun filled activity day on 28th June, 2023. The theme was ‘BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION’. This aimed at sensitizing the students about the harmful effects of plastic and following the principle of REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE. Classes I TO XII took part in various competitions ranging from making posters, collage, mobile stands, products made from newspaper, paper cups and plates, masks depicting endangered organisms to Ted Talks on the topic ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.
We also installed a ‘Recycle Station’ in our school portico by joining hands with the ‘Koru Foundation’. This is a non- profit organization which aims at finding sustainable solutions to our civic and social problems. For this, bins have been placed which are differently labeled for collecting different categories of wastes brought to school by the students on a daily basis.
The summer project of the Environment Club was to collect mango seeds for the ‘MISSION MANGO’. The students collected 40 kilograms of mango seeds. These seeds will help in the growth of grafted mango saplings, which is a citizen’s movement to help the farmers and also make India the biggest exporter of mango in the world.
