J.H.Tarapore School took a bold step towards fostering creativity, curiosity and hands on learning by organising an exhilarated “Bagless Day” for its students.

On Saturday 22nd July, 2023, the school premises was abuzz with excitement as children participated in ‘One Day Fun Day’ a myriad of engaging activities for Stds. I to V, concentrating around various vocations like pottery, gardening, sewing for Stds. VI to XII

With a mission to broaden young minds and inspire them to explore diverse career paths, the Bagless  Day initiative sought to break away from traditional routines and offer an immersive experience unlike any other

Throughout the event, each level embarked on a unique journey. “We believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls”, said the Principal, Mrs. Lata Sharat. “The Bagless Day was an excellent opportunity for our students to step out of their comfort zones and discover their interests.

The highlight of the day was a visit by RJ Manoj from Radio City who engaged with the students in a few games and an interactive session inspiring them to embrace their passions and explore the world of media and communication.

As the day drew to a close, the joy and fulfilment on the faces of the students were palpable. It left an indelible mark on their hearts and minds, inspiring a collective commitment to embrace the pursuit of knowledge and professional excellence.JHTS extends it’s hard felt gratitude to the dedicated faculty, enthusiastic students, supportive parents and generous volunteers who made this event a Re sounding success.

The Green Warriors Club of the Primary Department had organised various activities to celebrate the World Environment Day on 30th June , 2023.

The students had participated in various activities like Leaf Printing, Bookmarks making bracelets making with dry flowers and leaves. A slogans writing competition on SAVE TREES 🌳 was also conducted.
The children enjoyed a lot and understood the important role that nature plays in our lives.

The Environment Club of J.H.Tarapore School organized a fun filled activity day on 28^th June, 2023. The theme was ‘BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION’. This aimed at sensitizing the students about the harmful effects of plastic and following the principle of REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE. Classes I TO XII took part in various competitions ranging from making posters, collage, mobile stands, products made from newspaper, paper cups and plates, masks depicting endangered organisms to Ted Talks on the topic ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.

We also installed a ‘Recycle Station’ in our school portico by joining hands with the ‘Koru Foundation’. This is a non- profit organization which aims at finding sustainable solutions to our civic and social problems. For this, bins have been placed which are differently labeled for collecting different categories of wastes brought to school by the students on a daily basis.

The summer project of the Environment Club was to collect mango seeds for the ‘MISSION MANGO’. The students collected 40 kilograms of mango seeds. These seeds will help in the growth of grafted mango saplings, which is a citizen’s movement to help the farmers and also make India the biggest exporter of mango in the world.

We are delighted to announce that U-14 Sneha Priya of Std VII C secured 2nd Position and U-17 Archita Dey of Std IX A secured 1st position in CISCE ZONAL TABLE TENNIS 2023.

Both the students are selected for CISCE REGIONAL TABLE TENNIS 2023.

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”

The Cabinet of J. H. Tarapore School for the session 2023-24 was sworn in on Saturday, the 24th of June, at a formal Investiture Ceremony, to confer the authority of leadership portfolios to democratically elected students of J. H. Tarapore School.

The event was presided over by the Director Ms. Rubina Bodhanwala, the Principal Ms.Lata Sharat, and the Vice-Principal Ms. Rukshana Gardin.

A total of 52 members were inducted into the Cabinet and given their portfolios. The Cabinet was sworn in, beginning with the School Pupil Leader, Aarushi Jha (Std.XII) and Assistant School Pupil Leader, Mehreen Mumtaz (Std. XI), followed by the four house leaders(Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Topaz) , the Sports Leader, Cultural Leader, Discipline Leader, Cleanliness Leader, Ethics Leader and the Club Leaders along with their assistants.

The students were nominated and then elected by the students of the High School. They are the ones who have proved to be responsible and have shown exceptional leadership qualities throughout their school life.

Leaders are not made within the four walls of the classroom, they are made where the threshold of the classroom ends and the paradigm of the universe begins. Over the years, J.H. Tarapore School has built an ecosystem where students have been able to identify and hone their skills; along with academics sports is also an integral part of our curriculum. Investiture Ceremony is not just another event; it is a process which allows students to inculcate in them the qualities of a leader and the sense of collective responsibility. The oath taken by the SPL and ASPL, talks of truth, justice, peace and harmony in the school. The office bearers in their oath realise that with great power comes great responsibility.

The newly elected members will definitely be a mirror of the ideologies of the school and a torch bearer to their juniors.

J.H.Tarapore School organized its Annual Achievers’ Day on the 17 th of June,2023 in the school premises.

The Chief Guest  for the occasion was Mrs. Rubina Bodhanwala, Director, J. H.Tarapore School.

 The students of Stds-X and XII were recognized for their outstanding performance in the ICSE and ISC Board Examinations. Toppers of different streams were recognized. The highest scorers of different subjects were also awarded for their accomplishments. These achievers were felicitated with certificates, mementos and cash awards.

It was a moment of pride and satisfaction for the students as they achieved what they desired.

A 3-day summer camp was organized in the school premises for the students of Kg – VI.
The camp was an ideal kickstart to the summer vacation. Various activities such as yoga, aerobics, zumba, art and craft, jewellery making, coaster painting etc., kept the students engaged throughout. The session that excited them the most was the food session, the theme of this session was to ‘cook without fire’. It was really amazing for students to see their teachers preparing delicious savory and desserts for them.

The cooperation of parents and teachers made this a great success.

‘May Day’ was organized in the premises of J. H. Tarapore School.  The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. A colourful programme was presented by the students of the school in which the girls staged a comedy drama ‘Modern Akbar Birbal’ and presented a fusion dance, which captivated everyone’s mind. An enchanting dance was also performed by the Didis which was well received by all.

On the occasion of ‘May Day’, gifts were given to all the Didis and Bhaiyas from the school. Items of everyday use were provided by the students of classes VIII and IX.On this occasion, Principal Mrs. Lata Sharat appreciated the work of all the brave Bhaiyas and Didis, thanked them and wished them on May Day.

“THE GIFT OF BLOOD IS THE GIFT OF LIFE”

Blood is always needed to save lives and treat people. J. H. Tarapore School organised the Blood Donation camp in the School premises on 21st April, 2023. The camp was conducted by the Jamshedpur Blood Bank for the benefit of Cancer patients. There was a decent participation from the parent community of the school.

The parents who believed that donating blood can make a big difference, participated in this camp with full enthusiasm.
