The Annual Sports Day of J. H. Tarapore School was held on 10th December, 2022 in the school premises.
The day started with the meet being declared open by our Principal, Mrs. Lata Sharat, after the March Past. The National, State and Regional level winners were felicitated with medals and certificates.
Various races organised for Std . VI to XII were:
Std VI- Toss the Hoop
Std VII- Crab Race
Std VIII- Three Legged Race
Std IX- Under the Tunnel and Over the Bridge
Std X- Obstacle Race
Std XI- Wheel Barrow Race
Std XII- Tug of War
Flat races were also organised for the different classes.
The Emerald House was declared the overall Champions.

Tarapore School believe that children display their natural abilities through various activities. These activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learnt in the class and bring about all-round development. YUVA – the youth fest, is a day full of fun and enjoyment, organized every year to spend good times with friends, collect memories and be happy.
The various events help the children to showcase their talent and develop confidence in them. The Intra School Youth Fest-YUVA was declared open with the release of balloons by the Principal Ms.Lata Sharat and Vice-Principal Ms.Rukshana H.Gardin. The event was graced by the Director of Tarapore School, Mrs. Tina Bodhanwala Sood and former Director of J. H.Tarapore School, Mrs. Nargis A Madon.
The events like Ad-Mad Show, Stand-up Comedy, Face Painting, Calligraphy, Signature Dance brought in creativity, innovation and created an atmosphere of learning with joy.
It was a day well spent in school which really helped identify the inherent qualities of the children.
The Tiny Tots of J.H. Tarapore School left the people spellbound by presenting their kg. Parents Night Programme, on 18th of November 2022. The theme of the programme was “Colours”.
Mrs. Tina Bodhanwala Sood was the chief guest for the evening.
The children welcomed everybody through a welcome prayer dance. The whole programme was focused on ‘Colors’.
The children compered the whole programme with great enthusiasm. The programme ended with the school song and the children were encouraged with a standing ovation.

The Annual English and Hindi Elocution Contest for Primary Department was held at J. H. Tarapore School on 23rd September, 2022. The event was honoured with Mrs. Nargis A. Madon being the chief guest.
The esteemed panel of judges for English Elocution Contest comprised Rita Sinha (Faculty at Tarapore School), Patricia Rebello (Faculty at Loyola School) and Vandana Mishra (HOD English, Jusco School, Kadma).
The esteemed panel of judges for Hindi Elocution Contest comprised Rashmi Sharma (Faculty at Jusco School, Kadma), Sudha Kumari (Faculty at Tarapore School) and Teresa Paul (Faculty at Loyola School).
The students participated in the contest in three groups.
Group A and B- Std. IV and V students contested respectively in Individual Recitation Contest.
Group C– Students of Std. II and III participated in Choral Recitation where they recited poems on.

The Annual Hindi Elocution Contest was held at J.H.Tarapore School on 14th September, 2022. The Chief Guest for the evening was Mr.Anurag Agnihotri, Engineer and Project Manager of OneIT.
The eminent panel of judges comprised Mrs. Sadhana Srivastava, Head of the Department of Sanskrit and Hindi, Tagore Academy, Mrs. Shivrani Mishra, Hindi teacher, Tarapore School, Agrico and Mrs. Pushpanjali Mishra, Hindi teacher, Loyola School.
The students were categorised into four groups.
Group 1 consisted of Speech on various problems of the society by the students of Std.XI and XII. The first prize was won by ANSHIKA DUBEY the second prize by SRISHTI KUMARI and the third prize was won by SNEHA PATHAK.
Group 2 consisted of Story Telling (Emotional) by the students of Std. IX and X. The first prize was won by MEHREEN MUMTAZ the second prize was won by ZAINAB SHAMIM and third prize was won by SWETAL KUMARI.
Group 3 consisted of Patriotic Poetry Recitation by the students of Std. VI and VII. The first prize in this category was won by RIMMI KUMARI the second prize was won by SANSKRITI CHOUDHARY and the third prize was won by LARAIB FATMA
Group 4 consisted of ‘Dramatisation of Poems’ by the students of Std. VIII. The children enacted poems like”Guru ki Seva, “Lalach Buri Bala Hai” and “Murkh Kaun”. It was a spectacular display of dramatic and oratory skills. The winner was VIII / Candthe Best Dressed character was PRIYA SINGH.
J.H.Tarapore School celebrated Achievers’ Day for the Batch 2021-2022 on Saturday, 10th September, 2022. The ICSE and ISC Stream Toppers were felicitated as were the Subject Toppers.
At the ICSE level, Tooba Jannat won the award for the highest scorer in the Commerce stream, Juhi Sharan for Eco-Science and Parmita Das for Pure Science stream.
At the ISC level, Akriti Pandey was the Arts stream topper, Harshita Saraiwala – Commerce, Suchismita Dutta Roy – Bio-Science and Nancy – Pure-Science.
The awards were presented by the Principal Mrs. Lata Sharat, and Vice Principal Mrs.Rukshana H. Gardin. Cash prizes and mementos were awarded to the winners to laud their efforts.
Proud parents and teachers who were a part of the winners’ journey to their success were present to cheer the young achievers.

The eminent panel of judges comprised Dr. Yahiya Ibrahim, Head of the Department, Karim City College, Mrs. Nilanjana Mukherjee, Senior English Teacher, DBMS English School and Mrs. Nandini Bhattacharjee, Senior School Academic Coordinator, Narbheram Hansraj English School.
The students were categorised into five groups.
Group A consisted of Poetry Recitation by the students of Std. VI. The first prize in this category was won by KUMARI SHREE the second prize was won by MANYA DUBEY.
Group B consisted of Story Telling by the students of Std. VIII. The first prize was won by SMUTI SIMARANIKA and the second prize was won by ANUSHKA SRIVASTAVA.
Group C consisted of Declamation by the students of Stds. IX and X. The first prize was won by PRANATI SINGH and the second prize by AMRITA PANDEY.
Group D consisted of ‘TED TALKS’, by Std. XI and XII. The first prize was won by ARIBA SARWAR and the second prize by AASTHA SINGH.
Group E consisted of ‘ Dramatisation of Poems’ by the students of Std. VII. The children enacted poems like “The Three Little Pigs”, “The Inchcape Rock “and “The Diverting History of Sir John Gilpin”. It was a spectacular display of dramatic and oratory skills. The winner was Std. VII B the poem was ‘The Inchcape Rock’ and the Best Character awards went to SHUBHANGEE SAHA and DEBOLINA DUTTA.
PROBE is a much awaited Inter School Science Fest organized jointly by the Science Club, Environment Club and Mathematics Club of J.H.Tarapore School. It was held on 6th August, 2022 in the school premises. This provided an opportunity for the participants of various schools in town to ignite creative, collective scientific thinking and understand the dependence of humankind on Science, Mathematics and Environment.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel.
The programme began with lighting the lamp followed by the Environmental Awareness Rally, “ECOMINIONS”. The aim of this rally is to create awareness regarding environmental issues and encourage people to contribute towards a greener and sustainable planet. The mega fest had enthusiastic participants from 22 schools. The theme for the fest was based on the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development.
Probe included a variety of innovative and competitive events such as “Be the Bakshi”(Treasure Hunt), “Giggling Gagster”(Standup Comedy), “Expedition Unknown”(Vlog), “Speedathon” (Efficiency in Maths), “Global Assets”(Model Making), “Science Convention”(Speak your Mind), “Scigenix”(Quiz), “Minipixel”(Insta Reel), “Jazzy Chords” (Rap Battle), “Artisera” (Dance), “Classic Thalassic” (Fashion Show)
The fun filled Probe concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. The Overall Champion was Loyola School. The First Runner -up was Rajendra Vidyalaya.
J.H Tarapore School organized “Convergence” 2022, a one day fun filled workshop on 5th August, 2022.
It is held on the eve of “Friendship Day” which falls on the first Sunday of August .The day was full of interaction, fun learning and excitement where children mingled with each other and worked a as team. The students of standard V from 24 schools of Jamshedpur participated in this non – competitive workshop.The Chief Guest Jayati Paul Chief Projects Capital Planning Tata Steel, Jamshedpur inaugurated the function. After the inauguration ceremony, various interesting sessions were conducted. The first session was “Making Friends” where the students were put in different groups. As this year is “International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture”, the groups were named after various aquatic animals. In the session “Piece Out” the students made jigsaw puzzles on Aquatic Creatures and made a collage on “Aquaculture”. The students learnt innovative ways of making advertisement in the fun – filled session – “English is Fun!”. The session ended with an amazing Dance performance with the prize distribution ceremony with a message to all the groups and not to any particular school, thus spreading the message of love, friendship and togetherness.
