Recognition Day 2019

Recognition Day is the most wonderful day in a student’s life. This time the theme of the event was International Year of Indigenous Languages. The successful students in various fields such as sports, academics, Olympiads, and community services were recognized in the event. Some of the outstanding achievements are as follows:

Primary School All-rounder was given to Sarakshi Pani of V B and Social Service Award was given to Zarain Monazza IVC.

Apart from that Aastha Raturi was recognized for winning the cash award of Rs.5000 from Science Olympiad foundation for securing a rank of 128 in the International English Olympiad.

Kindergarten Parent’s Orientation

The Kindergarten Parent’s Orientation was organised to welcome the first timers with their parents on 15th March 2019. The parents were welcomed and the programme started with the lighting of the lamp. A presentation about our school was shown by Tr. Gracie Christina Anthony and Tr. Aparna Saha. Our Principal Mrs. Lata Sharat addressed the audience, by welcoming the parents and highlighting the safety rules of the school. The director Mrs. Nargis Madon of our school gave information regarding the new online fee structure. The teachers and the office staff were introduced by the Principal. The programme ended with the song sung by the teachers followed by the school song. After the programme was over the parents were told to visit the classrooms of their little ones.

Excursion- 2018

Like every year, this year too, the Eleventh standard of J.H.Tarapore School went for an excursion . Since the very first day of Std. XI each and every student looks forward to the much-awaited excursion trip. A ten-day long trip to Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur was organized by the school . It was a fun filled trip where students got the opportunity to explore a totally new and different environment. The students learnt to take care of themselves and their belongings without the supervision of their parents and also learnt to adjust with other people. It was a great experience to visit different monuments and palaces like Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, India Gate and many more. It was an enriching and thrilling experience for all.

Educational Trip to NML

We at J. H. Tarapore School are always looking for ways and means to achieve all round development of our students. Educational field trip is an effective way for enabling this.
In this pursuit, the Science Club of our school arranged a trip to the National Metallurgical Laboratory on 7th December, 2018 for the science students of Std. XI.
The students were cordially received by the NML team and a detailed description was given about the various segments of the Laboratory. The students had a great opportunity to enhance their knowledge about the latest technology in the field of science. The NML team guided the students about the enriching career in research and development.

Field Trip – Dorabji Auto

Students of Standard XII of the J.H. Tarapore School went to the Dorabji Auto, Adityapur as a part of Geography Project, on the 16th of November, 2018. The students were accompanied by their Geography teacher Mrs. Smriti Sahay. The students were attended by the manager of the company and briefed the students about the history of the company and various processes in manufacturing. This trip was a great learning experience for the students.

Outstanding Activity Club award from TBExG- The Safe Club

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Safe Club of J. H. Tarapore School, has been chosen as. this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Activity Club award from Tata Business Excellence Group(TBExG). This award is given annually to school for various activities that they conduct in school. It is a prestigious honor that serves to recognize the best of the best within the various clubs of the school.

Annual Sports Meet 2018-2019

The XVIIth Annual Sports Meet of J. H. TARAPORE School was held in the school premises on Saturday, 24th November 2018 for the High School and on Monday, 26th November, 2018 for the Primary School.

The High School Sports Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest, Mr. FIROZ KHAN (Senior Sports Administrator-Tata Steel)

The School pupil leader, Aman Saleha welcomed the gathering. The Sports Minister, Srishti, along with all the students who qualified for the National Level (Sports), took the sportsman’s oath on behalf of the school.

The event started with the March Past by the students of Std. IX-XII of the J.H. Tarapore School.

Twenty two students of the High School were  felicitated for their achievements at the National and District levels.

The events that were the attraction of the day were 400mts, 200mts and 100mts flat race, Wheel Barrow race, the Orange Dive race, Under the Tunnel and Over the Bridge, Obstacle race, 4x100mts relay race and Tug-of-war.

The winners in the various categories were felicitated. The winner for the March Past was Sapphire House, Best Athlete award (High school) was bagged by Pavitra Peela and Best Athlete award(Higher Secondary) by Swarnalee Chakraborty. Emerald House was declared as the Best House.

The  Annual Sports Meet of the primary department of J. H .Tarapore School was declared open by the Chief guest, Mrs. Rubina Bodhanwalla, Managing trustee, Tarapore Schools.

Many students of the primary school were also felicitated for their achievements at the National and District levels.

The tiny tots of L.Kg. and H.Kg. had fun – filled races like Magic of Sharing, Wiggly Worm Race, World of Colours etc.  The students of Stds. I to V had various interesting relays like the Snake Relay, Kangaroo Relay, Ladder Relay etc.

Mrs. Rubina Bodhanwalla gave away the prizes to the winners. The Closing Ceremony was timed to perfection.

The ceremony ended with the School Song and the National Anthem.

Kg. Parents’ Night 2018-2019

The tiny tots of J. H. Tarapore left the audience mesmerized by presenting their Kg. Parents’ night Programme on Thursday, 22nd November 2018. The theme of the programme was ‘International Year of Coral Reef and Millets’.

 Dr. Deepali Mishra, Consultant, Tata Business Excellence Group, was the Chief Guest for the evening.

A mermaid dance left everybody mesmerized. This was followed by a musical skit encouraging children to adopt different occupations. The little creatures under the sea set the stage on fire through the Fashion Show.

The children anchored the entire programme with great zeal. The programme ended with an action song depicting our rural culture and a Finale Dance.

Everyone present there enjoyed the show and encouraged the children with a standing ovation.

International Library Month

The International School Library month was celebrated in J. H. Tarapore School in the month of October. Students from junior and senior school participated in various activities. Students of Std I and II participated in drawing and colouring of the fairy tale characters while students of Std III to V made charts, Book markers and book covers.

In the senior section Std VI and Std VII participated in Spell Bee, Std VIII in newspaper cover page designing while Std IX had a quiz contest based on Shakespeare.

By celebrating Library Month our aim was to enhance the reading skills and creative aspects of the students.

 

YUVA 2018

We, at J.H.Tarapore School, believe that our children are our most valuable assets which need to be nurtured in every way so that their latent talents come to the forefront. For this purpose, every year, our school organises YUVA an intra school youth festival.
The various events in the fest help the children to showcase their creativity and also develop a sense of self belief in them.
The day’s festivities commenced with a cycle rally flagged off by our Chairman, Mr. Bailey Bodhanwala. The participants carried posters to create awareness about coral reefs and their importance in the environment. Mrs. Rubina Bodhanwala, Managing Trustee, Tarapore Schools, also graced the occasion with her presence.
Among the events held this year were:
