Field Trip to NML

A visit to the National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) was organized for the students of science sections of classes IX and XI. We had an interactive session with the scientists of NML who asked us questions related to science to know our interest in the subject. They guided us about the various departments of the laboratory and their working. We were shown a short documentary on the working of the various projects and other laboratories and their working in different cities. Later we went to have a close look on the functioning of the different sections and the technology used by them. The scientists working there were very friendly and were explaining everything in detail to us which increased our interest in the subject. At the end we went to a museum and saw the pictures of the time when NML was inaugurated. The infrastructure of the laboratory was very good and everything was clean. The environment there was very postive and calm as everybody was doing their job perfectly. Overall it was a very informative trip which boosted our knowledge of the subject. It helped us to recognise mining as a career option. It was a memorable experience and an excellent opportunity for us to visit the place.
