Kg. Parents’ Night – 2019

International Year of Indigenous Languages

The tiny tots of J. H. Tarapore left the audience mesmerized by presenting their Kg Parents’ Night programme on 22nd November, 2019. The theme of the programme was International Year of Indigenous Languages.

The children welcomed everybody with a welcome dance. The Mexican & the African dances set everyone’s foot tapping. The theme dance was a show of vibrant colours.

The students from the Higher Kg presented a report of the year through a power point presentation. The Kg students themselves compered the programme with great enthusiasm. The programme ended with the vote of thanks followed by the school song.

The children , with their 100% participation, enthralled the audience with their scintillating performance. The children were lauded  by the parents for their commendable performance.

Quality Month

“Quality is not an act, it is a habit”, rightly said by Aristotle, notifies the importance of quality in our lives.

“Quality Month” is celebrated with full zeal in our school to signify the importance of quality. a short program was organized by standard IX students on 1st November, 2019 .

The program started by lighting the ceremonial lamp and seeking god’s blessings. Our director Nargis ma’am, Principal Lata ma’am and our chief guest Mrs. Vidya Battiwala and  all the students of high school were present.

The program ended with our chief guest giving us certain examples as to how we can maintain quality in all the small – small things also which we do in our daily life.

It was a really nice way of explaining the actual meaning of quality. This show was a very well organized one reflecting on it’s purpose. We all should try our very best to maintain quality in every work we do in our life.

Annual Hindi Elocution 2019

The Annual Hindi Elocution event of High School division of J. H. Tarapore School was held on 8th November, 2019.

The chief guest for the event was Dr. Sandhya Sinha.

The eminent panel of judges comprised Mrs Shipra Mohanti, Mrs Sadhna Singh and Mrs Kiran Agnihotri.

The elocution contest was divided into 4 sections.

Group A – It comprised a contest between the students of Std. VI and Std. VII who delivered poetry pieces on the theme of “Relationships”. The winners of this category were:

1st –MEHREEN MUMTAZ ( VII )      2nd – SARAKSHI PANI ( VI )

Group B – A story telling contest between the students of Std IX and Std X had the theme of “Satire”. The winners of this category were:

1st –ANSHIKA DUBEY ( IX )         2nd –DIYASHA BANIK    ( X )

Group C – This year TED talks was the highlight of the elocution contest where the students of Std XI and XII demonstrated their oratory skills on the theme of “Success and Generation Gap”. The winners of this category were:

1st –SAIKA KUMARI (XI)                 2nd –DIVYA ( XII )

Group D – This part of the event has ‘Dramatization of Poems’ by the students of Std. VIII. The theme this time was poems based on historical events. The students enacted the poems “Padmavati ka Balidaan”, “Veer Yoddha Prithviraj Chauhan” and “Panna ka Tyag”.

The overall presentation for Dramatization of poem for Std. VIII went to class VIII – C. The Best Character award went to DIVYA SHARMA and best dress award went to  ANUSHKA SRIVASTAVA.

The meaningful fillers presenting the Traffic Safety rules enhanced the level of the program and conveyed an issue of concern through a song.

  • ADMISSION PROCEDURE

According to the regulations laid down in the Right to Education Act.2009 there will be no interview/Interaction/Assessment either of the parent or the child

  • Admission will be granted only on the basis of Random Selection (computerized lottery).

B.P.L. CATEGORY

  • 25% seats will be reserved for children belonging to B.P.L. category.
  • Please contact the DSE office for the Application Form.

Age

  • Applicants for L.Kg. must be born between 16th September, 2015 to 15th September, 2016.
  • The Birth Certificate issued only by the Government Certified Authorities will be accepted.
  • The Birth Certificate in English or Hindi only, will be accepted.
  • The Birth Certificate should have been made within one year of the child’s birth.
  • In case the Birth Certificate of a child has been issued by the “Gram Panchayat”, it will be accepted only if it is duly signed and stamped by the “Panchayat  Sewak” of the concerned Panchayat only.
  • Affidavits or horoscopes will not be accepted.
  • The original Birth Certificate must be produced during the submission of forms for verification and it will be returned on the same day.

हिन्दी भाषा की महत्ता हमारे जीवन में किस प्रकार व्याप्त है यही दर्शाने के लिए कक्षा एक से लेकर बारवीं तक की छात्राओं के लिए विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताएँ रखीं गईं थीं । जिसमें बच्चों ने काफ़ी उत्साह से भाग लिया ।

Annual English Elocution 2019

The Seventeenth Annual English Elocution was held at our School on  23rd August, 2019. The Chief Guest for the evening was Rev. Fr. Francis Peter, Professor, Managerial Communications, XLRI, and the judges were Mrs. Ashu Tiwary, Principal, Motilal Nehru Public School, Dr. Poornima Dore, Economist, AS Management Professional working with TATA Group and  Miss Sukanya Das, Corporate Communication and Event Management, JUSCO.

The students were categorized into four groups. Group A consisting of ‘Prose’ narrated by Std.VII and VIII students. The first prize was won by TARBIYA ZAFAR and the second by MEHREEN MUMTAZ.

Group B comprised ‘Declamation’ delivered by the students of Std. IX and X. The first prize in this category was awarded to KAYNA VIRDI and the second prize was won by SOUMYA MISHRA.

Group C consisted of Std. XI and XII students. They presented ‘TED Talks’. The first prize was won by M. HARSHAPRADHA and the second prize was won by DEBLEENA BISWAS

Group D comprised ‘Poetry Dramatization’. The children dramatized well known poems.  Std. VI A dramatized ‘When I am an Old Lady’ Std. VI B ‘The Spider and the Fly’  and VI C dramatized the poem ‘The Enchanted Shirt’. The class that won ‘Poetry Dramatization’ was Std. VI B.

There was also an award given to the ‘Best Character’. The first prize was won by AAYESHA SAMEEN and the second prize was won by AVNI GULATI. It was a spectacular display of oratory skills. Each and every student undoubtedly performed her best.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2019

The Cabinet of J. H. Tarapore School for the session 2019-20 was sworn in on Monday, the 29th of July, at a formal investiture ceremony, to confer the authority of leadership portfolios to democratically elected students of J. H. Tarapore School.

The Chief Guest for this auspicious occasion was Mr. Bailey Bodhanwala, Chairman of J. H. Tarapore School. Mrs. Rubina Bodhanwala, Managing Trustee of Tarapore Schools, was also present during the ceremony.

A total of 48 members were inducted into the Cabinet and given their portfolios. The Cabinet was sworn in, beginning with the School Pupil Leader, Ambrisha Zubeen (Std.XII) and Assistant School Pupil Leader, Sanjula Shankar(Std. XI), followed by the four house leaders, the Sports Minister, Cultural Minister, Discipline Minister, Cleanliness Minister, Ethics Minister and the Activity Club Leaders along with their assistants.

The students were nominated and then elected by the students of the High School in the month of May. They are the ones who have proved to be responsible and have shown exceptional leadership qualities throughout their school life. This is a step taken to instill leadership qualities in children and enable them to work towards shared goals. The Senior Leaders in their speech motivated the students to not follow where the path may lead, instead to go where there is no path and leave a trail.

PROBE 2019

PROBE is a much awaited Inter School Science Fest organized jointly by the Science Club, Environment Club and Mathematics Club of J.H.Tarapore School. It was held on 3rd August, 2019  in the school premises. This provided an opportunity for the participants of various schools in town to ignite creative, collective scientific thinking and understand the dependence of mankind on Science, Mathematics and Environment.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Indranil  Chattoraj, Director, NML.

The programme began with lighting the lamp followed by the Environmental Awareness Rally. The aim of this rally was to create awareness regarding environmental issues and encourage people to contribute towards a greener and sustainable planet. The mega fest had enthusiastic participants from 20 schools. The theme for the fest was based on the ‘International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements’.

Probe included a variety of innovative and competitive events such as Earth Crusaders (Banner Making)- “Zimmedar Nagrik, Zimmedar Shaher”,  Art Da Vinci (Hand Painting)- “Save the Earth for a Better Future”, Lend Me Yours Ears (Debate)- “Artificial Intelligence – A threat to Human Intelligence”, Brain Clicks (Quiz), Shovel Challenge ( PowerPoint Presentation)- “Increase in the use of Toxic Goods in  our Everyday Life”, Cyborg (Fashion Show)- Periodic Table, Lexophile ( Rap with Technical Terms), Explorer – Group A-Model  based on Maths and Group B- Model based on Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Scientertainment (Advertisement of a futuristic event), Megapixel (Movie Making) and Math –O-Clue- Philic( Treasure Hunt based on Mathematics)

The fun filled ‘Probe’ concluded with the prize distribution ceremony. The Overall Champion was LOYOLA SCHOOL. The First Runner -up was SACRED HEART CONVENT SCHOOL and the Second Runner-up was HILL TOP SCHOOL.

Convergence 2019

J.H. Tarapore organized “Convergence 2019” a one day fun filled non-competitive workshop on 2nd August, 2019. It is held on the eve of “Friendship Day” which falls on the first Sunday of August. This day was full of interaction, fun learning and excitement where the students mingle with each other and work as a team. The students of Std-V from 21 schools of Jamshedpur participated in this event.

The Chief Guest Mrs Varsha Daga inaugurated the function. After the inauguration ceremony various interesting sessions were conducted; the first was ‘Let’s Explore’ where the students were put in different groups. The next session was ‘DIY‘. Here the students were guided on making some interesting decorations. In ‘Colourage Magicque’ each group solved the mystery and used appropriate colours to finish their task. The last session was a time bound session. Here each group was given a number of activities to be completed within a specific time.

The event ended with the closing ceremony. The Managing Trustee of Tarapore Schools, Mrs. Rubina Bodhanwala, gave away the prizes and certificates to the students.
