J. H. Tarapore School enthusiastically celebrated the International Yoga Day 2026 with great zeal. This year’s theme, ” ๐˜๐จ๐ ๐š ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก๐ฒ ๐€๐ ๐ž๐ข๐ง๐ , ” highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and vitality at every stage of life.
The programme was jointly organised by the ๐…๐ข๐ญ๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ค๐ฌ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› of the Primary Department and the ๐€๐๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› of the High School. The celebration began with an introduction of the ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐˜๐จ๐ ๐š ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ and the relevance of this year’s theme. The students learned how regular yoga practice helps improve flexibility, strength, balance, concentration, and overall health, contributing to healthy ageing and a better quality of life.
A series of yoga asanas, including ๐†๐š๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ง๐š, ๐๐š๐๐š๐ก๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ง๐š , ๐†๐จ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ค๐ก๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ง๐š , and ๐”๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐š๐ง๐š , were performed by the students. Along with the demonstrations, the benefits of each of the asanas were explained, helping students understand the positive impact of yoga on both the body and mind.
The session concluded with ๐๐ก๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ซ๐ข ๐๐ซ๐š๐ง๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ฆ๐š , which promoted relaxation and inner calm. This was followed by energetic rhythmic clapping that filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm and joy. The programme ended on a peaceful note with the collective chanting of ๐Ž๐ฆ , leaving everyone refreshed, focused, and inspired.
