21st Annual Sports Day – 2023

J.H.Tarapore School hosted its 21st Annual Sports Day at the renowned J.R.D Tata Sports Complex on December 4th, 2023.

The day was filled with sportsmanship and teamwork as the Chief Guest Mr. Mukesh Agarwal, the Chief HRBP – Steel TSJ & Chief Wellness Officer Tata Steel, declared the sports meet open.

Led by the School Pupil Leader, Aarushi Jha and Assistant School Pupil Leader, Mehreen Mumtaz, the march past displayed synchronized movements by the four houses – Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby and Topaz. The School Band, Red Velvets, played tunes that made the parade more lively and exciting.

The students of std IV & V participated in the Martial Serenity Display, a drill based on martial arts and yoga. Meanwhile the students of VI to VIII paid tribute to the Indian Space Research Organisation:ISRO and Chandrayaan by performing Lunar Exploration Extravaganza drill.

Within the lively sports arena, students exuded remarkable sportsmanship in sprints and relays. The tiny tots from Kindergarten and the budding talents of Std I to III added charm to the races. Simultaneously, relay races by students of Std VI to XII, held the attention of the onlookers.

The presence of the Former Director Mrs. Nargis Madon, Principal Mrs. Lata Sharat and Vice Principal Mrs. Rukshana Gardin at the event significantly boosted the morale and confidence of the students.

The closing ceremony included a grand prize distribution with Emerald house winning the Overall Champions Trophy.

The trophy with the best marching contingent was awarded to the Sapphire house.

The prestigious Best Athlete Award in the High School category was bagged by Shambhavi Pathak, while in the Higher Secondary category, the honour went to Mihika Pal.

 The Annual Sports Day of J. H. Tarapore School was not just a day of competitions but a celebration of shared values, unforgettable fellowship and the invincible spirit of the school community. The day culminated with the school anthem, echoing the pride and unity defining J.H. Tarapore School.
